Office for Cultural Property

The Office for Cultural Property was set up in August 1998.

It mainly deals with:

· The protection of the cultural property of Cyprus

· The collection, evaluation and use of information / intelligence, in relation to the illicit trafficking of works of art and antiquities.

· Combating the illicit trafficking of stolen works of art and antiquities.

· Repatriation and return of stolen antiquities and works of art, of
Cypriot origin, to their rightful / legal owners.

It must be mentioned that members of the Office represent Cyprus Police at National, European and International Conventions / Conferences / Symposiums and Seminars, related to Cultural Property offences.
