The Recruitment Office is under the administrative command of the Deputy Director (Education) of the Cyprus Police Academy, and operationally under the command of the Assistant Chief of Police (Education). It is responsible for the preparation of job descriptions and the announcement of Police job vacancies, in the Official Gazette of the Republic and in daily newspapers. In addition, its staff are responsible for receiving, verifying, classifying and entering recruitment applications in the relevant electronic file. The Office also undertakes the organisation of written examinations for recruitment and promotion as well as of any other examinations provided for by the Police Law and the relevant Regulations, in cooperation with the Examinations Service of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Moreover, it also supports the work of Recruitment Committees for the Recruitment of Constables or Special Constables, as well as the work of Advisory Committees for the Selection of Qualified Personnel. Furthermore, it announces the results of the written examinations, as well as the procedures for recruitment to the Cyprus Police. Its staff also prepare reports on appeals lodged with the Supreme Court concerning recruitment to the Police. They organise the oath taking ceremony for the new Police officers, Special Constables and the Specialised Personnel, as well as the preparation of their Personal Files and personal records Card. Additionally, they participate in career fairs / events to promote the Police profession, informing the public on issues of recruitment to the police and a career in the police.
