In its effort to prevent crime, the Crime Prevention Office collects and evaluates information. The members of the Office usually carry out their duties in plain clothes, not in uniform and they are especially trained in gathering and collecting information. They carry out patrols on a 24-hour basis and respond to calls by the Officer on Duty to attend to incidents and crime scenes. They are also involved in the protection of VIPs and prosecution witness of serious criminal cases. Additionally, the Office is responsible for carrying out checks at nightclubs.
