The main mission of the Police Telecommunications Branch is the provision of wireless communications to the various Police Services through the installation and operation of an independent wireless network as well as the provision of wired communications to the Departments /Services /Offices of the police and the public, through the installation of an independent telephone system.

Additionally, the Telecommunications Branch provides technical support to other Police departments which deal with the prevention and detection of offences and require specialized technical knowledge and expertise.

In order to fulfill its mission, the Telecommunications Branch is equipped with the appropriate technical equipment and is staffed with specialized and appropriately trained personnel that undergo continuous training both locally but also abroad.

The personnel of the Telecommunications Branch make up four teams that have the following duties:
