The PSID is staffed by members of the Police who are distinguished by their ethos, confidentiality, integrity, sense of responsibility, efficiency and determination to carrying out their duties in full, without any hesitation or sentiment (professionalism). Moreover, they must fulfill the following qualifications:

1. Prosperous service of more than ten years
2. High level of practical training in police duties
3. Minimum of three years’ service in investigation duties
4. During the previous five years, they should not have been convicted for any disciplinary or criminal offence.
