In accordance with Article 80 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 on the protection of natural persons against the processing of personal data by the institutions and other bodies and organizations of the Union and the free movement of such data, the subject of the data (natural person), has the right to obtain from the controller confirmation as to whether or not operational personal data concerning him or her are processed, and where that is the case, have the right to access operational personal data, as well as other information, specified in the Law.

Any person may also exercise the right to rectification or erasure of operational personal data or of restriction of processing, of personal data related to him or her referred to in Article 82 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725.

Any person wishing to exercise one of the aforementioned rights may, in accordance with Articles 36 and 37 of the Europol Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/794), submit a relevant application, either to the authority appointed for that purpose, in the Member State of his or her choice, or directly to the Europol Agency. The competent authorities designated by the Member States, for the submission of the application, are posted on the relevant EUROPOL website, https://www.europol.europa.eu/right-of-access.

Each application must be accompanied by identification documents, specifically, a photocopy of an identity card or passport. In case the application is submitted through a lawyer, the power of attorney document should also be presented. In addition, the application should contain all the necessary information (depending on the request), so that it can be processed.

The request must have the subject/title: "Data Subject Access Request" and be submitted, by regular mail or by e-mail, with no charge.

The EUROPOL Agency should respond to the access request as soon as possible and no later than three months after receipt of the request. It is noted that the Europol Agency may wholly or partly restrict the aforementioned rights, on the basis of the requirements are set by the relevant legislation.
