The C.I.D. operates 24/7 and it is staffed by experienced detectives. It consists of:
- Two Investigation Teams: they are investigating all serious offenses of Penal Code including Murder, Attempted Murder, Terrorism, Internet Theft and Fraud, Money Laundering, Organized Crime, Missing Persons etc.,
- Burglar Unit: investigates all Burglaries in the city and Province of Lefkosia, records the details and Modus Operandi of the perpetrators and conducts operations
- Financial Crime Unit: investigates complex cases of financial crime in the Lefkosia District,
- Domestic Violence Unit: investigates all the cases involving Domestic Violence except cases regarding sexual offenses against minors and cooperates with other services for the safety and accommodation of the victims
- Crime Scene Investigation Unit (C.S.I.): The Crime Scene Investigation Unit consists of crime scene investigators who document an active crime scene and identify, collect and classify evidence which are later analyzed in a lab, respond 24/7 hours a day to support detectives in the investigative, documentary and recovery process of evidence at crime scenes and suspects in Lefkosia District.
