CITIZENS’ COMMUNICATION LINE (1460)

The Citizen Communication Line (Help line - Tel. number 1460) has been operating at Police Headquarters since 2002. Its aim is to enable citizens to directly contact Headquarters for help, information or to make complaints. It is a way for citizens to receive immediate help or assistance and at the same time to give the police useful information without any fear or prejudice. It essentially serves as a vital discrete bridge of communication between the Police and the public. This Line does not in any way substitute the Police Emergency Line (199/112).

All messages/information received by the Line are recorded, and where possible the response by the Line personnel is immediate. If an immediate response is not possible, then the information received is passed on to the appropriate Police Department/Service for further handling.

The Citizen Communication Line functions on a 24 hour basis and calls are free of charge.
